Catch Up Via Random Ramblings

My husband says it’s been too long since I’ve written, I agree. Since Brooks is home sick today and rather tame, I actually have the time to post!

Here’s a mash up of recent thoughts and trends:

This happened. I gave birth to the cutest baby on the planet. As testament to her awesomeness, she was born on October 1oth, 2010 (10/10/10) at 10:10 am. Try giving birth and then having the news crew call your hospital room and ask you to come out to the parking lot to talk about your baby. Ah….NO.

She’s grown into this in the last (almost) 4 months:

Out of control cuteness. Seriously. When I think of my Emmeline the words sweet, reserved and content come to mind. She is just SO wonderful.

Continuing with the adjective game:

Smart, Silly, Big Boy.

This one turned 3! I canNOT believe it, I’ve been watching him recently thinking that all traces of baby are gone. They’ve been replaced by quite the cool kid. Since Emme was born, he’s really hit a neat phase and grown so much. He’s finally agreed to let me do “school” with him and I get to use him as an outlet for my “pent up need to teach” ways. He so close to knowing his letters and their sounds and we’re working on numbers, days of the week and memory verses. My sometimes wish is to homeschool him, but I believe that some kids are so NOT meant to be taught by their mothers. He’s one. He astounds me though. The child had been blessed with an amazing memory, which he did not get from me, the woman who constantly finds herself in various rooms of the house wondering how she got there and where she’s supposed to be. One cool party trick of his: give him any random book from the library, read it to him twice, wait a week, and he’ll pick it up and “read” it with astounding accuracy.

As for me. I am learning to become a stay at home mom. Funny thing to be learning now, as I’ve been doing it for 3 years now. Apparently, this job has a large learning curve, as I’m just now getting the hang of it. Enjoying it too even. I’m finding it easier to be at home most of the day and don’t feel the need to get out of the house as soon as possible in the mornings. We are hitting our stride as far as structure and schedule is concerned. Early evenings are no longer torture territory and when my head hits the pillow at night, I feel like I’ve actually accomplished something with my day. Can I get an AMEN?!?! Finally!

Running helps. Lots of running. It’s my ME time.

More to come! Hopefully.
